The Masterpieces of Automotive History in one Place: The Grand Basel 2018

On September 4, 2018, the very first edition of Grand Basel took place, a brand new and exciting happening for car enthusiasts. I was invited by the makers to participate and photograph their event that took place in a stunning venue.

Grand Basel is a new project that presents masterpieces of automotive design. It took place for the first time this year as a world premiere in Basel, Switzerland, but there are also future editions planned in Miami Beach and Hong Kong. Grand Basel explores the relationship between cars, humans, nature, architecture and design, bringing together automobiles of the past, present and future in an unrivaled, pioneering setting. The show is a completely new approach to exhibiting, discussing and honoring the car.

All the cars were selected based on characteristics such as design, provenance, cultural value and historical significance.

It was a real pleasure to be there, to photograph and admire each car in detail. Here is my selection of photos to relive what was Grand Basel 2018!
